Hello!

Happy Independence Day!

Welcome to the July issue of The Taylor Times!  I know I have some new readers this month.

The painting I have featured this month is some of the freshest paint in the studio/ booth at the moment.  It is one scene of a six painting series of round bails and wood lined fields.  I am very excited about this series and I’m sure there will be more of the same inspiration soon.  The colors are inviting and for many of us, the scenery is familiar and friendly.  I have finished five of the six paintings and they are posted under Farms and Fields tab in my online painting gallery.

Follow a Painting

I have just posted a finished lake and round bail paintings on my blog.  I have also been taking photos of my booth in the different places I have been selling my paintings and posting them as well.  It is fun to follow where I am traveling to as well.  Stop by the blog and see either where I’m at or what I am painting! http://amykayetaylor.blogspot.com

Paint Running

As the summer moves along, many of our long distance runners are training for fall marathons and half-marathons.  If you know a runner who would like inspiration in the form of a print or painting, let me know.  I have filled several gift requests for runners this summer – they have been unique and quite fun!

 Question and Answer

Each month I answer a question related to shows or my art.  I have two in mind that have been fairly prominent in my last two shows.   This month I will address one of them.

Q: Would you need to frame one your paintings?

A:  I may have addressed this in the past but it never hurts to chat about one of the wonderful advantages to purchasing and enjoying my paintings.  I paint around the sides of my stretcher bars so that the painting extends all the way around the canvas.  (And as a side note, I stretch the canvas first and physically paint around the sides!)  This allows the painting to be enjoyed from any angle and it provides a clean and neat finished edge.  Additionally, you do not have to frame a painting of mine.  Your investment is final with the purchase of the painting and you can hang as soon as you get home!

July Shows

I have three shows scheduled for July in various parts of the Midwest.  If I’m in your neck of the woods, please stop by and see me and my paintings!
